Welcome ladies and germs, to June!

This is the beginning of month five for Goo Man! Can you believe we’ve been going for this long?? I certainly can’t. AND we have a milestone coming up: Goo Man number 50!! It’s a great month for Goo Man. But first, I’d like to introduce the new “Month Previews.” At the beginning of each month Matt and I will post a preview like this, talking about what’s to come for Goo Man, what’s going on in our lives, doubts, concerns, awesomeness, you name it!

So to start off, Goo Man #50. This one’s coming up FAST and you all know what I promised. You all did a great job in gathering up fans for Goo Man on facebook, and the count keeps growing even after the challenge (We’re at 161 as of right now)! So the contest I promised will be revealed with the 50th comic and the contest will probably run until July or August, just to give you guys time to get everything turned in. The 50th comic itself isn’t a celebration or special comic just for #50, but a regular comic in the story arc. I hope it’s not a let down to you guys, but I didn’t feel like uprooting the storyline for a “happy number 50″ thing.

Next, advertising. As much as we love our readership now, we want to have more people enjoy Goo Man! Matt and I have gotten Project Wonderful to say “yes” to having ads on our site, and we can advertise on other people’s sites. The problem? We lack the money to put up ads. The solution? Have people advertise on our site for a fee. The problem? I can’t get the widgets to work that need to so we can have people advertise. I’m looking into the problem and hopefully it’ll be resolved quickly and without problem.

Thirdly, comments. We know you guys are out there and we’d love to hear from you all! Even something as simple as “nice comic guys” really boosts the morale here at Goo Man HQ. I’ve also vowed to answer every comment on the site, so please, feel free to tell us what you like, what you don’t, and what you’re eating for supper that night (no, not really. unless it’s ribs…yum).

And lastly, storyline. The Goo Man on the Town saga will continue throughout this month and probably July, maybe August. Bear with us, we’re trying to introduce main characters and get storylines set up. After this saga, I believe it begins the random adventures (to a certain extent. continuity, Matt. continuity).

I’m sure you all have noticed as well that the quality of the art on Goo Man is not exactly…well, quality. I am indeed trying to get things going on a much better foot, I promise you. The unfortunate thing is, the one USB port on my computer that allowed me to plug in my Wacom tablet is out of order and needs to be fixed. Until then, I can’t increase that quality. I am working, however, on moving away from mostly using Corel to make the comics and using more of Photoshop. Hopefully the quality shows more and more throughout the month.

Comic is being worked on. No worries, I know I’m late(er), but I’ll have it up within my capabilities (with quality intact).
