Ultrasound
Ultrasound
A fairly new imaging technology is that of an Ultrasound. This technology is often used to see an echocardiograph of a woman’s unborn fetus; ultrasounds can be used for other purposes other than viewing a baby, one other purpose of it is to view a person’s ureter tubes to view if they have a kidney stone and if so to view the characteristics of it and the placement of the stone(s) in tubes.
-Ultrasounds use the energy used through the vibrations of sound waves that can be up to 20,000 vibrations per second. That creates such a high pitch sound that most animals cannot hear.
The first records of an ultrasound were in 1942, when Doctor Karl Theodore Dussik of Austria published his findings of medical ultrasonics, based on his research into using ultrasonic sound waves to view the brain.
The second records that date the beginning of ultrasounds where in the 1950s, when Professor Ian Donald of Scotland developed the first practical use of ultrasounds in medical practices.
These two persons helped to begin the start of the use of ultrasounds into modern day forms and uses.
